According to Business Insider, employees who work within 50 miles of a Zoom office will have to come in two days a week. Zoom, a business whose brand has been synonymous with video chats that have allowed people to work remotely throughout the pandemic.

According to Colleen Rodriguez, head of global PR at Zoom, “we believe that a structured hybrid approach—meaning employees who live near an office need to be onsite two days a week to interact with their teams—is most effective for Zoom.” As a business, we are better equipped to employ our own technologies, keep innovating, and assist our clients around the world. According to The New York Times, the corporation will implement its new hybrid work strategy over the months of August and September.

There is irony here, of course, given how vital Zoom has become to many individuals who work remotely. “We’ll continue using the full Zoom platform to keep our staff and distributed teams connected and productive,” Rodriguez said. Zoom, on the other hand, started requesting a mixed work arrangement much later than many other IT companies.

For instance, starting in April 2022, Google employees in several US locales were scheduled to work three days a week from the office. Similarly, beginning in September of last year, Apple employees in the Bay Area were required to come into work three days a week. Soon after taking control in late last year, Elon Musk completely discontinued remote employment at the organisation once known as Twitter.
