Wizz Air celebrated transporting six million people to and from the airport in Larnaca.

According to a press statement from Wizz Air, the airline offered a trip voucher to its 6 millionth passenger to commemorate this milestone.

“Larnaca Airport is a crucial airport for the base and operations of Wizz Air. The number of passengers transported has gradually increased over the years as a result of the airline’s ongoing development and the addition of additional routes. This outstanding accomplishment demonstrates Wizz Air’s sustained popularity and the significant demand for low-cost flights to and from Cyprus, according to the business.

Wizz Air has established itself as a significant player in the Cyprus market since it began operations at Larnaca in 2010. It now connects travellers to a total of 31 destinations in 18 countries, including Athens, Copenhagen, Damman, Jeddah, Kutaisi, London Gatwick, Krakow, Prague, Rome, Tel Aviv, Yerevan, and more.

We are happy to have surpassed the milestone of carrying 6 million passengers at Larnaka International Airport, Wizz Air’s Corporate Communications Manager Zsuzsa Trubek said when discussing this achievement. It demonstrates the confidence our customers have had in WIZZ over the years. We are still dedicated to provide our customers with the most affordable rates, top-notch service, and a wide range of locations to suit their changing demands.

“Wizz Air’s success in Cyprus aligns with Hermes strategy to enhance air connectivity with year-round flights and promote sustainable tourism,” said Maria Kouroupi, Senior Manager of Aviation Development and Communication at Hermes Airports. This alliance has made a major contribution to the development of Cyprus’s tourism industry. We are thrilled to be a part of Wizz Air’s incredible journey and look forward to building on this productive alliance for many more achievements in the future.
