Kamares aqueduct is an impressive monument definitely worth visiting. It was built in 1746 and provided water to the locals of Larnaca city until the 1930s. This fascinating landmark has 33 arches. Kamares is the Greek word for arches and that’s the reason why the aqueduct got its name.
You should visit the Kamares aqueduct not only if you enjoy admiring historical attractions ,but also if you are a nature lover. Behind the aqueduct there is a nature pathway that runs over 8 kilometres. The pathway starts from the aqueduct and ends up at salt lake and it is ideal to enjoy the natural views of the landscape.
